Apple has made its next launch official. On October 19, Apple sent media invitations for an in-person "special Apple Experience" in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, posted the invite artwork on X with the line "Can't wait to pro and tell next week."
What Apple has confirmed
- Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2026
- Time: 10 a.m. Pacific, which is 19:00 in Athens (Europe leaves summer time on October 25)
- Format: an in-person media experience in Los Angeles, like the October 13 "Welcome home" launch in New York
- Tagline: "Pro and tell"
That is the full list. Apple has not named any products, and as with Welcome home, reports say there will be no public keynote stream. Expect press releases on Apple Newsroom around the start time.
What is rumored
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported for weeks that Apple is preparing 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED touchscreens and a Dynamic Island, an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro and an iMac with the M6 chip, and an iPad mini with an OLED display. He has also said the new hardware could ship on Friday, November 6. Apple has confirmed none of this. The "pro" wordplay points at the MacBook Pro, but a tagline is not a spec sheet.
There is some supporting evidence. Last week an Apple regulatory page listed a new Smart Folio model for an unreleased iPad mini, and the current MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max has been on sale since March 11.
Who should care
If you were about to order a MacBook Pro, iMac, or iPad mini for work, waiting eight days costs little. If you bought one recently, check your return window now so you still have options after the announcement.
This does not mean the current MacBook Pro is obsolete. The M5 Pro and M5 Max models launched only in March and remain on sale.
Our take: the invite confirms a date, not a product list. Plan around the rumored roadmap if you like, but do not commit a team-wide refresh until Apple publishes prices, specs, and ship dates.
Caveat: touchscreen Mac rumors have been wrong before, and the final lineup could be smaller or arrive in stages.
