Creator Studio adds MotionVFX and MCP for iWork in a November update
Final Cut Pro gets MotionVFX and iWork gets MCP support for AI agents, free for subscribers in November.

Apple announced a broad update to Apple Creator Studio on October 27, 2026. It arrives on the App Store "this November" as a free update for existing subscribers. Apple has not given an exact date. The subscription still costs $12.99 a month or $129 a year in the U.S., or $2.99 a month for students and educators.
What is coming to each app
- Final Cut Pro for Mac: built-in MotionVFX effects, templates, transitions, and tools for rotoscoping, tracking, and color grading; Content Hub stock video; round-trip image editing in Pixelmator Pro; 23 new transcription languages.
- Logic Pro for Mac: a beta assistant, a Stem Splitter that can isolate drums, and a redesigned Browser with on-device sound tagging and a Splice library.
- Pixelmator Pro: Generate Fill, which edits a selected area from a text description.
- Keynote, Pages, and Numbers: beta assistants built on Apple models and OpenAI, plus MCP support so external AI agents can read and edit documents.
Freeform's image editing and shape generation follow in December.
Requirements to check
Apple's footnotes say the Logic Pro assistant needs macOS 27 on an Apple Intelligence capable Mac, and the Keynote, Pages, and Numbers assistants need iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 on a capable device. Both are U.S. English only. MCP support requires macOS 27. Logic Pro for Mac needs Apple silicon.
The iWork assistant reached iPhone and iPad on October 22, as we reported. This update brings it, and MCP, to the Mac.
What it does not mean
The free versions of Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform remain free, and one-time purchase versions of Final Cut Pro ($299.99) and Logic Pro ($199.99) are still sold. Apple has not said which of the new features reach those versions.
Our take: MCP in iWork matters most for working teams. It lets automation tools edit documents directly, which also means IT should decide which agents get that access.
Caveats: several features are labeled beta, the OpenAI role means some requests may leave the device, and nothing here has shipped yet.
