Apple's Magic Mouse and Trackpad specs now list only Apple silicon Macs
Apple's compatibility lists for the USB-C Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad no longer name a single Intel-based Mac.

Apple's tech specs pages for the USB-C Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad now list only Apple silicon Macs under compatibility. The oldest Macs named are the M1 models, such as MacBook Air (M1) and Mac mini (M1, 2020), and the only Mac Pro listed is the 2023 model. The Apple Store product pages for both accessories show the same lists.
MacRumors reported the change on October 7. Both specs pages still give the system requirement as a Mac with macOS 15.1 or later, and Apple has not explained why Intel Macs were removed.
This does not mean a mouse or trackpad already paired with an Intel Mac will stop working.
Decide what you buy for the Intel Macs you still support
Our take: if your desk or office still runs Intel Macs, treat these accessories as unlisted on that hardware from now on. They may work fine, but a compatibility list is the first thing a support conversation checks when something goes wrong.
Apple has not said whether future accessory firmware will be tested on Intel Macs. For a mixed fleet, note which machines fall outside the list and plan peripheral purchases alongside the Mac replacements.
