tvOS 27's quieter changes could matter more than its headline features
Text size, captions, and app controls make this an update for everyday viewing as well as music.

tvOS 27 adds music and podcast features, but its smaller usability changes deserve a closer look. Apple's release notes, updated September 25, include preferred text sizing across supported apps, transcribed audio when conventional captions are unavailable, and controls to block individual apps.
The entertainment additions include AutoMix for song transitions, Hi-Res Lossless support in Apple Music, and video podcasts. Apple also describes more responsive AirPlay connections.
A shared screen needs flexible controls
Our take: a living-room device benefits when people can make it easier to read and easier to manage. Larger text and more ways to follow dialogue may matter more in daily use than another visual refresh.
There are boundaries to those promises. Text sizing depends on app support, and automatically transcribed audio is distinct from supplied captions. The operating system launched earlier in September; the newly detailed notes are not a second release.
