Apple's paid podcast video plans create a workflow decision for creators
The opportunity is one subscription offering; the unresolved part is how your hosting provider will deliver it.

Apple plans to bring video to Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, including subscriber-only episodes, ad-free video, early access, and bonus material. Its September 22 announcement describes access across Apple devices and the web in more than 170 countries and regions.
The important qualification is timing. Apple is still working with hosting providers, with partner details expected in the coming months.
Plan the offering before the equipment
Our take: creators should first decide what subscribers gain from seeing the show. An interview, demonstration, or visual explanation has a different production requirement from an audio program that adds a static image.
There is no reason to promise a launch date to subscribers until the delivery path is confirmed. Check the host's integration plans before budgeting around a new paid-video workflow.
This is an announced direction for the subscription platform, not confirmation that every creator can publish premium video today.
