Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, posted a two-line teaser on X on October 8: "Welcome home. October 13." As of Friday, October 9, Apple has not published a press release, start time, or livestream, and its events page still features the September iPhone event.

Reports from MacRumors, Macworld, and others point to a smart home hub with a display, plus updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models. Some media say they have been invited to an in-person "Apple Experience" in New York. Apple has confirmed none of it.
The current hardware is old by Apple standards. The Apple TV 4K pictured above was announced on October 18, 2022, with the A15 Bionic chip and a $129 starting price. Apple's US store now lists it at $199 for the 64GB Wi-Fi model and $249 for the 128GB Wi-Fi + Ethernet model. HomePod mini was announced on October 13, 2020, at $99 and now sells for $129.
This does not mean Apple has confirmed the LG-made doorbell, lock, and thermostat described in recent reports, or any new Macs.
Who should wait, and for how long
If you were about to buy an Apple TV, HomePod mini, or HomeKit gear for an office, studio, or meeting room, waiting until Tuesday costs little. Mac buyers have no confirmed reason to wait based on this teaser.
Our take: "Welcome home" is a hint, not a spec sheet. Pause home and media purchases for a few days, but do not plan a rollout around rumors. Prices, Siri AI support, and compatibility requirements should be clearer once Apple publishes product pages.
Apple could announce more or less than the reports suggest, and an announcement date is not necessarily an availability date. Reports of new MacBook Pro models later this month are also unconfirmed.
