Mac Studio's storage upgrade deserves its own buying question
A faster processor is not the only way a desktop can reduce time spent waiting on projects.

With the new Mac Studio now available, storage is worth separating from the processor discussion. Apple advertises up to twice the storage performance, alongside Thunderbolt 5 connectivity for external devices.
That is a manufacturer claim, not a measurement from Macfolio. It is also not a claim that every project will finish twice as quickly.
Find where the waiting happens
Our take: think about whether your delays occur while loading assets, copying files, or actually processing them. Those are different operations, and a processor upgrade alone does not describe the whole experience.
External storage introduces another set of constraints: the drive, enclosure, connection, and workload all belong in the comparison. A port's advertised bandwidth is not a guaranteed file-copy speed.
The sensible evaluation is a representative project on the configuration you are considering. Published specifications identify what to investigate; they do not replace that test.
