iCloud+ custom email domains now allow 10 addresses, up from three
Apple's support page now lets iCloud+ subscribers create up to 10 addresses per custom domain, up from three.

Apple has raised the address limit for Custom Email Domain, the iCloud+ feature that lets you send and receive iCloud Mail from a domain you own. Its support document, dated September 30, now says you can use up to five custom domains with up to 10 personalized email addresses per domain. The previous version of the same page, dated January 2025, allowed three addresses per domain. 9to5Mac first reported the change on October 5.
What changed and what did not
The five-domain cap stays the same, and sharing still works the way it did.
- Domains: up to five per iCloud+ subscriber
- Addresses: up to 10 per domain, up from three
- Sharing: up to five other people, in or outside Family Sharing (outside the family needs iOS 16 or later)
- Shared users: each can create up to 10 addresses on the domain
- Requirements: an Apple Account with two-factor authentication and iCloud Mail turned on
- Price: included in every iCloud+ tier, from $0.99 a month for 50GB in the US
Addresses work in Mail on your devices, on iCloud.com, and in Messages, FaceTime, and Calendar. You can bring a domain you already own or buy one through iCloud settings, where a third-party registrar handles the sale.
Who should care
Freelancers, consultants, and very small businesses gain the most. Ten addresses per domain covers separate sales, invoices, and support aliases without paying for a separate hosted mail service.
This does not mean iCloud Mail is now a company email system. Apple says Custom Email Domain does not support managed accounts, such as the Managed Apple Accounts an employer creates through Apple Business, so every address still sits on someone's personal Apple Account. An address also cannot already be in use as another Apple Account's email.
Our take: this is a quiet but useful change for one-person shops that already pay for iCloud+. If your team is growing or needs shared mailboxes, admin control, or clean offboarding when someone leaves, plan for a proper business mail provider instead.
Custom Email Domain is not available in every country or region, and Apple has not announced the change beyond its support page.
