Apple said on November 3, 2026 that its redesigned Health app is available in the iOS 27.3 developer beta and will reach users as a free software update later this year. The app will support global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.
What changes in the app
According to Apple's Newsroom post, the app is built around Apple Intelligence and adds:
- An Insights tab with summaries across heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking, plus a For You section with recommendations
- A Longevity tab covering heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition
- Health Age, which uses Apple Watch data such as VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability, and can include lab results like A1c and LDL cholesterol
- At-home movement evaluations that use the iPhone camera and Apple Watch to measure flexibility, strength, balance and VO2 max
Apple says the movement evaluations run entirely on device and that no video is recorded, stored or shared.
Requirements and who it is for
The redesigned app needs an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad running the latest software, and some features are iPhone only. Health Age requires an Apple Watch. The VO2 max test needs an Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3 or a third-party heart rate sensor. Some features require users to be 18 or older, and availability varies by region and language. MacRumors reports the redesign was tested in the iOS 27.2 beta and removed before that release.
If you have an older iPhone without Apple Intelligence support, you keep the current Health app. If you manage company iPhones, nothing changes until iOS 27.3 ships, and the update can be deferred like any other.
This does not mean Health Age is a medical diagnosis; Apple describes it as a measure of how your metrics track against your actual age.
Our take: the language list matters more than it looks, because it puts the redesign in front of far more people at launch. Health Age will be the feature people talk about, and the one most worth reading with some skepticism.
Caveats: this is beta software, Apple has not given an exact release date, and features may change or vary by country.
